New Politics?

So David Laws has resigned as Chief Secretary to the Treasury after the Daily Telegraph rumbled him for claiming expenses to pay rent to his partner.

He didn't have much choice really.

His resignation came pretty swiftly which was refreshing when you compare with the last 13 years of Labour where dodgy MP's either kept their heads down until the next major headline or took a plum job in Europe before sneaking back in through the floorboards.

So was this new politics in action? Well we'll soon see won't we.

Given the new coalition Governments charter for cleaning up politics means giving voters the right to kick out MPs guilty of wrongdoing, somehow i doubt it'll happen.

Democracy In Action

If any of this happens i for one will be a very happy chap indeed.

"Because thousands of criminal offences were created under the previous government...
Taking people's freedom away didn't make our streets safe.
Obsessive lawmaking simply makes criminals out of ordinary people."

R.I.P RJD

Sad day as one of my idols and arguably the greatest ever metal singer died aged 67.

Ronnie James Dio was a true legend and had a unique and powerful voice, in fact i'd put him up there with Mr Mercury.

I can always remember a track from my teens called Love Is All from the Butterfly Ball and then some years later realising it was Mr Dio himself. That shows his versatility as an all round singer.

For me his best efforts were the two Sabbath albums (Heaven & Hell/Mob Rules) and of course the Long Live Rock & Roll album with Rainbow.

Ronnie you were a legend and your music will live on forever.  R.I.P.
