Happy New Year

Seems like yesterday we were celebrating the end of 2005 and welcoming in the new year.

So another one almost gone and again no resolutions to be made as i never keep them.

I have not posted as much on the blog this year as i thought i would, despite plenty to blog about, just can't be bothered really.

Anyway happy new year to anybody bothering to read this and all the best for 2007.

Muslim The Most Overused Word In Britain Today

Can the government, newspapers, journalists, all sources of media and anybody else for that matter, please stop talking, well at least for a few months anyway, about Muslims.

I’m sick to the teeth, as i’m sure you are too, how muslims are supposed to be doing this and doing that. If your going to report, why can’t you use their names like anybody else and refer to them as people. I mean what has religion got to do with living in 21st century Britain anyway and why should being a muslim buy you any favours or make you special. Stop pandering to them, leave their religion out of it and treat them exactly the same as everybody else in this country and move on.

Why have we got muslim community leaders? I mean who elects them anyway. If they want to be a spokesperson for their community, then why not enter the local elections like other MP’s have to do and represent everybody. I mean if my local MP showed favoritism to certain quarters because of their religious beliefs, i’d kick off big style. If my binman left my bin and emptied everybody elses in the street, i’d kick off and have them and the council by the short and curlies…ouch!!.

Remember we elect people in this country, we fought for the freedom to do so. So if your in the civil service then you serve the people who put you there or you get your backside kicked and your out. So please no more unelected spokes-persons thank you very much.

If a person wants to go to school or work, but doesn’t want to follow the required dress, code, then tell them to go elsewhere. If a police officer doesn’t want to uphold his or her duty on the grounds of religious or moral belief, then tell them to choose another occupation. If a person, objects to showing their face at a passport terminal then tell them to piss off. Simple!!

My biggest concerns are not whether the war in Iraq or Afghanistan is creating terrorism in the UK, i mean since when has a terrorist been a muslim, have we forgotten the IRA? No, my concern is that the tolerant, honest, hard working and law abiding citizens of this great country are starting to get irritated and things are going to turn nasty.

From what i am hearing from usually mild mannered people is anger and resentment towards the muslim faith and it’s not all their fault. Yes they have to speak out and we have to support them when they do, but please not under a religious banner, do it as a British citizen. If your bin isn’t being emptied, don’t bring colour or religion into it, get onto the local council and get them to sort it, if they don’t, talk to your MP!! Write to me and i’ll kick off if it makes you feel better. On second thoughts dont!!

The Government isn’t helping either and is inciting tension, anger and resentment by discriminating against the majority by pandering to the few. Have you forgotten what democracy means? And Britain was a democratic country the last time i checked.

My take on it is simple, if you are born in this country then you have a moral duty to take pride in these lands, do your best, work hard, be neighbourly, tolerant and above all, be British and uphold its laws and traditions. If your a LEGAL immigrant and come to this country, then you have the same moral and legal duties as above. However, if your an ILLEGAL immigrant, that means your not allowed to stay here for one reason or another, then accept it and go back to where you came from. Here’s an idea, why not try to make your own country better, that way you might not want to come here in the first place, in fact i may even want to come to you. See history of Britain and why it’s so great, we had our fair share of dictators too you know, and probably still have, but we vote them out.

So let’s leave colour and religion on the backburner, it’s so yesterdays news. You see the colour of your skin is…well the skin you were born in and religion is something you should practice in private or in your church.

Oh and when in Rome!!
